Simplicity 3

Today I'm reading Psalm 85:8. "I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace to his people."

Late night last night with the Confirmation Class dinner and program. Amazing group of 32 teens joining the church!

So, here are some of my favorite words from Thomas Kelley's classic "Testament of Devotion."
Is there a quiet stream beneath all this surface reality from which flows continually an awareness of the mysteries of God?

Deep within us all there is an amazing inner sanctuary of the soul, a holy place, a Divine Center, a speaking Voice to which we may continuously return. Eternity is in our hearts, pressing upon our time-worn lives with intimations of an astounding destiny, calling us home to itself.

The living Christ within us is the initiator and we are the responders. [Jesus] expected this secret to be freshly discovered in every one who would be his followers. It creates an amazing fellowship, the church catholic and invisible and institutes a group living at a new level, a society grounded in reverence, history rooted in eternity, colonies of heaven.

The currents of His love have been flowing but whereas we had been drifting in Him, now we swim.

May you swim through your day today being carried by the current of his love.
